The ORT Modeller was developed as an easy-to-use piece of software for modelling and flying launch vehicles of arbitrary size and complexity.
It is not a model rocketry simulator like OpenRocket, instead it focuses on real-world launch vehicles.
The ORT Modeller comes with a modeling tool that persists models in an XML file and a simulation engine for launching a model.

This is a modelling tool for the construction and analysis of the systems, components and subsystems of spacecraft and launch vehicles.
The modelling tools consist of a good graphical design tool and a modelling environment where the design can be modelled and test before construction.
The modelling tool includes objects to construct the subsystems, components and system-level diagrams, which can be accessed from the design environment.
The design environment has been created with modular construction in mind, so it is easy to use and extend the tool with new components that are added to the design.
To make the models perform, the tool also provides a simulation engine that can be used to run the model, either on the built system or on the model structure as an isolated entity.
The simulation engine is built in a modular way so that only the necessary parts are compiled into the final executable.
It is able to run models with any number of systems, components and subsystems.
Simulation result analysis includes the simulation of all subsystems, components and systems, the orbital insertion of the spacecraft or launch vehicle and engine ejection burn analysis, in case it is required.
Launch vehicles can also be loaded into the model and simulated in space, which is useful for modelling the braking trajectory of the vehicle as well as any post-launch servicing operation.
This way, models for spacecraft and launch vehicles can be designed to meet the requirements for a specific mission in a very efficient way.
The whole modelling tool has been developed by students of the Aerospace Engineering Department at the Eindhoven University of Technology and is released under the zlib/libpng license.
The modelling tool consists of the application and simulation engine and the ORT Modeller Design Environment, which includes all parts required to make it useful.
The design environment consists of the layout editor, database, modelling tool, environment for simulation and the graphical design tool.
The simulation engine is the core part of the modelling tool and is the core of the application, as it is the part that simulates the model and produces the results.
The application can be used to edit the model, and to launch and analyse the model before construction.
While the simulation engine is the core part of the application, it is not the only component that simulates the model.

In the ORT Modeller Product Key help file there is a list of all of the stages that are modeled.
Each stage has a list of both its kinematic and dynamic model components.

The software is free. It is written in C++ and uses a dynamic link library (DLL) for Windows (dll) and a dynamic shared object (SO) for Linux (so) and Mac OS X (dylib). The software requires Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Visual C++ 2008 Express edition, or GCC 4.0.

RocketLauncher has been included in the FSX source for a while.
It is simple, easy, but limited to basic shapes.

It does not allow for much modelling, but will be much easier for a novice user.


Rocket Launcher (FSX) is a nice modeling/simulation tool for FSX.
There is an free version but it is limited and I had problems with it a while ago.
The paid version is a better solution.

CakePHP submit does not work anymore

The real problem here is that the model for this action is not being saved since I have linked a form to it.
The controller and the model are in the same project and both are working fine when the controller and model are not linked.
